Touring the Garden

Visitors to the Garden and Nursery are welcome Friday through Sunday during open hours. You can enhance your visit with either a self-guided or docent-led tour.

Public Tours

Enhance your visit with a tour. Trained volunteer Docents share the Garden's history and plant collection. We offer tours on many Saturdays from May-October. General tours go into depth about the history of the Garden, the Kruckeberg legacy, and the plant collection and feature what is in bloom and of interest at that time. See our tour calendar for schedule, then REGISTER FOR TOURS online.

Advance registration is requested for all tours. Two hour tours are $10 per person.

View our events calendar for tour listings and registration information.

Private Tours

Private, docent-led tours are available by arrangement and provide an overview of the plant collection or focus on a theme of your choice. Tours are $10/person, with a $60 minimum.

Self-guided tours

Specialty tours

We offer several special topic tours each year, focussing on topics such as bird, mosses, and ethnobotany. Please see our tour schedule for this year's options.

Before Your Tour

In advance of your visit we recommend visiting the History page of this website. The photos and details will greatly enhance any visit to the Garden.

All visitors must remain on the paths to avoid soil compaction and damage to plants. The upper garden is flat, but not paved. The path to the lower garden is relatively steep (beyond ADA standard slope) but in some cases can be manageable by wheelchairs. We recommend that you visit in advance of your tour if you have concerns about accessibility.

There are limited restroom facilities at the Garden and no wheelchair accessible restrooms. Please plan accordingly. Please also see information about Parking.
