2008 Tours and Hours
The Kruckeberg Botanic Garden and MsK Rare and Native Plant Nursery are open to the public year-round on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday:
10 am – 5 pm (March 22nd - September 22nd)
10 am – 3 pm (September 23rd - March 21st)
There are three great ways to tour the garden:
1) Free guided tours are offered on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month through September. These tours provide an overview of the garden’s history and points of interest in about an hour. Tours begin at 1pm, no pre-registration is required.
2) Longer, more in-depth tours of the botanical collection are also offered for visitors interested in gardening, ecology, and botany.
A private tour for your group of 6-15 people may be arranged by contacting tour coordinator Rod Parke. If email is not possible, you may call at (206) 909-3965. These docent-led tours are offered Thursday through Sunday, or other days by special arrangement. Tours generally start at 11am and last two hours. Tours cost $10 per adult ($5 for youths 12-17). For student organizations, a flat fee of $60 is charged, up to a maximum of 15 persons per tour.
For individuals or groups fewer than six people, pre-scheduled guided tours are offered via the Shoreline and Edmonds Parks & Recreation Departments. The fees are the same as above. They are scheduled for 11am on Saturday mornings. See our online calendar for scheduled tour dates. For more information and to register contact the Shoreline Parks & Recreation Department at (206) 418-3383 or the Edmonds Parks & Recreation Department at (425) 771-0230.
3) A free self-guided tour is also a great way to tour the garden. Pick up a map and a Walking Tour brochure to help you in spotting garden highlights. Visitors to the garden and nursery are welcome Friday through Sunday at designated hours.
In advance of your visit we recommend visiting the History page of this website. The photos and details will greatly enhance any visit to the Garden. Tours are wheelchair accessible. All visitors must remain on the paths to avoid soil compaction and damage to plants. The upper garden is flat. The path to the lower garden is relatively steep but manageable by wheelchairs.
Please note that parking is limited. The Kruckeberg Botanic Garden is located in a residential neighborhood with a narrow street right-of-way. When planning to visit the Garden, carpooling is strongly recommended. Please respect the rights and privacy of our neighbors, and leave room between your car and the road for pedestrians. If you have questions about parking, contact us. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. |
