Celebrate Native Plants
Explore Kruckeberg Botanic Garden’s Native Beauty Collection, a new interpretive exhibit highlighting native plant species of the Pacific Northwest and their ornamental horticultural importance. Through five themes, Native Beauty explores relationships connecting native plants to pollinators, wildlife, seasonal change, people, and the interconnected ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest.
The exhibit invites visitors to look closely at how native plants shape biodiversity, support habitats, reflect seasonal rhythms, and contribute to the living landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.

About the Grad
Jessica Iwuoha is a recent graduate student from the Museology program at the University of Washington, where her work focuses on interpretive design, exhibition development, and community-centered museum practice. Her thesis project, developed in collaboration with Kruckeberg Botanic Garden, explores how interpretive signage can encourage deeper connections between visitors, native Pacific Northwest plants, and ecological systems.
Through the Native Beauty Collection, Jessica combines environmental interpretation, visual storytelling, and inclusive learning approaches to create engaging experiences rooted in curiosity, observation, and place-based connection.
