Lonicera sempervirens – Trumpet or Coral Honeysuckle

A deciduous vining honeysuckle used for its ornamental appeal. Here’s a third member of the honeysuckle family (Caprifoliaceae). The long tubular flowers are quite noticeable here. Butterflies use their long proboscis to probe inside to get some nectar; you could do that as well but a little goes a long way. It hails from the South East U.S. but is hardy here along with a number of cultivars that bear checking out. All will grow up to 15’.
