As the year comes to a close, it’s time to recognize and thank all the amazing volunteers who have made Kruckeberg Botanic Garden Foundation the flourishing entity that it is today. If you volunteered your time with us this year, we thank you!

Our volunteers come from all walks of life and work in a variety of areas to help make the Garden a better place for the community to enjoy. Whether it’s raking leaves, hauling plants, planning events, updating our website, writing grants, and more – each person brings something unique and valuable to the table.

Who are these hidden hands of help?

Rather than providing an exhaustive list of names, let me introduce you to our teams of volunteers:

  • Thursday garden volunteers
  • Administrative ninjas
  • Board of directors (some pictured above)
  • Interns
  • Garden committee members (some of them in the photo below)
  • Tour guides and workshop instructors
  • And others who have helped out in so many ways

Each group and individual plays a significant role in supporting and contributing to the growth and nourishment of the Garden.

This year’s recipient of the Mareen Kruckeberg Award: Vicki!

We also want to give special recognition to Vicki Demetre (pictured below on the left and above center), one of our outstanding volunteers who earned the inaugural Mareen Kruckeberg Award back in September. The accolade acknowledges individuals or organizations that have gone above and beyond to contribute to KBG Foundation. Vicki contributes significantly to the Garden and has played an essential role in ensuring its sustained growth.

So thanks again volunteers and for anyone interested in joining the fun, be sure to check out our volunteer page. However, if you prefer to show your support with a financial gift, please donate today!

Best Regards,

JP Sauerlender, Executive Director
