As the summer solstice nears there are even more light hours in the day to enjoy a garden stroll. This summer, please come to the Kruckeberg Botanic Garden for a visit. While you are here, take advantage of our Talking Trees Audio Tour. This free program allows visitors to hear Dr. Kruckeberg discuss the KBG’s plant collection on their mobile phones. For years, Dr. Kruckeberg led tours of the KBG in person. At the age of 92, he no longer does. Talking Trees is the next best thing!
The Talking Trees Audio Tour debuted in 2010. This spring we added more plants to the tour, as well as QR codes that allow smart phone users more easy access. We later realized that many of the QR codes did not work properly and have now fixed the problem. Sincere apologies if you had tried to use this feature in the meantime! The tour now contains over 80 tour stops that highlight plants ranging from giant trees to groundcovers and ferns underfoot.
When you are here, simply look for the green oval signs marking select plants. Dial the phone number and follow the prompts, or scan the QR code. It’s easy.
We hope to see you at the KBG soon!
