Work on our new Pacific Northwest Native Plant Demonstration Garden has begun. Yesterday, six hardy volunteers and two service-learning students from Shoreline Community College moved compost and relocated plants in the new demo garden area. After much planning, we are excited to see the work begin!

Volunteers removed non-native grasses and groundcovers from the demo garden entrance. The soil here is compacted and rocky, so it was not an easy task…

Many of the groundcovers were replanted under trees nearby.

An impressive amount was accomplished in only two hours. Thanks, volunteers!

Work on the new demo garden will continue throughout the spring, summer, and fall. You can follow it on our blog and on Facebook. Want to get involved? Let us know!
